I actually got to dance. At the Den. And be social and everything. Joey too! Well, he didn't do the dancing part. I even made it to work on time at 10 am. This will become habit again. Now if I could just rebuild my alcohol tolerance...

ow. last night was great fun. again, happy birthday mike and melanie!
i got to see tons of people and even hang out with a couple of them for a few minutes. i stayed out WAY too late, but it was good. whoever bartends tonight, have some hair-of-the-dog with my name on it. and speaking of names, does anyone have that one for me? i usually hate leg work, but i will make an exception. txt me.

Went to see Lucks last night at Circle Bar. I had never been there. It's small, quaint. I like the courtyard. It's even air conditioned inside; though with the amount of people that turned out, it was still getting pretty warm. Lucks were pretty good! Great energy. I had fun. The first band was late going on by about an hour, and Lucks got pushed to going on last, so it wasn't all said and done til about 1:30. I had arrived at 9:45. I did get a lot of reading done though! House of Leaves is finally done. Comparatively, I have been flying through Hocus, Pocus, K. Vonnegut.
What have we been doing these days? Being disgustingly happy. We are still settling into the new place. Still shopping for furniture and unpacking stuff because there was just nothing to store it all in. Two more pieces coming today, though, so hopefully the the rest of the cardboard (except the MREs) will be gone soon. Been cooking a lot in the *real* kitchen(!), playing games, watching movies...
We finally made it out to the zoo. We didn't get there 'til after noon though, so we missed a lot and will be going back. We didn't get to see many of the animals actually walking around because of the heat or they were behind walls getting fed. It was like playing Where's Waldo but with furry things. But we had fun. I am easily amused with cute things. I liked pointing out the rabbits that weren't actually part of the zoo but were everywhere. And feeding the ducks (but mostly fish and turtles) took half an hour at least. There were jack asses too - not the animals, unfortunately. Some hick thought it was great waving bunches of leaves he had ripped off the bush to the giraffes to get them to come over. Poor things were being tortured because, of course, there was no way they could reach it. I had to walk away 'lest I shove those leaves somewhere the giraffes couldn't see it anymore.
Once we get more settled in, table assembled, (dead)things on the walls, there will be invites for dinners! Can't really have loud parties here, though. There's around 60 apartments here - too many people to piss off and we don't want to have to move for a while. And there is a pool...
We have most day times off, work mostly nights. Give us a ring if you want to hang out, do lunch, watch a movie... No game system here yet, but we are thinking about it. :)

couple of peak days today and sunday for meteor showers. i saw three standing outside last night in only about 5 minutes. one was long and bright and shot straight down the center of the big dipper.

i have a slight obsession with anthony bourdain and andrew zimmern. and with bourdain it's actually more of a crush.
i tried the osso buco at Maximo's. fat and marrow and all. holy.... like the meat itself wasn't good enough..... YUMMERS! i didn't care much for the broccoli rabe, but the bitter did balance out the fat content. the fingerlings were just a welcome starch to coat with marrow. want more!

not a drunk post as much as... it's my fucking problem, not yours, will you all just give me a fuxing break?! i'm cool with discussing things with friends, I can always use a good venting and outside viewpoint, but when it comes to slinging gossip and advice, no. one person discussion, great. two or three want to chime in, drop it. it's been six months and i can't hang out where i want to without getting accosted. granted, every now and then, it's a welcome giggle and/or reassurement i'm not paranoid or anything. but when i can't even be silent without getting yelled at... it's no wonder i'm thinking about moving again. i left florida. i can sure as shit leave here.

think i'm getting sick. 5 shots over 3 or 4 hours should not a trip to the porcelain god make. and tonight i've been getting hot flashes and i'm not sure if maybe it just isn't as cold out cuz usually i'm always cold. and no, i'm not going through menopause; not THAT old yet. think it may be what i've been eating too. mostly meat. last couple times i went grocery shopping i bought a bunch of meat. and then i had to cook it so it wouldn't go bad. and now i've been eating it. and no veggies, which is really odd for me. too much meat breaks down my immune system....? weird.
saw the other boelyn (sp?) girl. awesomeness. really. go see it. no, don't download it, go see it.
hm. guess that's it. boring, i know. so shoot me. but, if you're gonna shoot me, take off a finger or something. i ain't done yet. and losing a finger would, at least, keep things interesting.
oh yeah. stalkers are creepy. not liking the stalker. not. at. all. (no, j, i'm not playing target practice with it, that would be deemed as 'attention'.)

amazing what one can do when there's no hangover. made brownies (with choc.chips, marshmallows, & peppermint patties!), premade food stuff for quick reheating (pork chops, veggies, pasta), pushed my desk back against the wall and laid my rug back down since the waterfall hasn't reappeared in my 'bedroom', laudered all my towels (course it isn't cold enough to appreciate them fresh out of the dryer :(), did dishes, went grocery and hardware shoppping... and before i go in to work, drugstore shopping for me and restocking the shop. neat. oh, and 2 levels gained in diablo!

it's all a blur. see?

i waaaas going to go see I Am Legend, but my movies buddy is in Missouri. :( looks like a quiet night at home. unless i get the urge to kill stuff before 10, then maybe diablo and meatloaf at flanagans! and ebay! there will be ebay! and poker! but really, i should just stay home and save money and clean and mend and spend time with kitty-witty.

hair is done, people are exhausting and disappointing, and some are actually ok... weird. stupid fun people throwing some light on my grim outlook...
oh sorry, is this all over the place? blame boredom. and diet pills. and drive...

getting dressed this moring(/afternoon), i noticed the belly. 'where the hell did...?! ah fuck.' looks like i'll be drinking at home more since i'm running low on cash stuff. nothing leads a good diet like a good hangover.
also this: people still suck. and it's cold out. there will be minimal outings. especially with the insane mardi gras work schedules.
down with the wagon! still waiting on the new blueprints... come on, J, you can find five minutes for that... ;p

yesterday started off pretty regular. get up, get dressed, go to work. had an unexpected visitor at work, someone i rarely see during the day. sounded like there might be plans for them hanging out with another friend. i suggested hey you two should visit me at my other work - and it was sooooo slow, i wish they had. but...
for whatever reasons, neither could make it. i was a little mopey, but it was my suggestion only mere hours earlier. other people make plans, i like drop of a hat. doesnt even work for me half the time. anyway, i actually did really good for a slooooow friday.
onwards, i played the poker machines 10 a pop twice and cashed at 190 together. tipped and bought a few drinks for friends, but then thats just what we do.
and now that i am home i realise i had a much more an enjoyable night than i could have guessed. and though i put myself in a situation where i may have been abruptly interrupted in my happy meanderings, all went surprisingly well. i may be in a bad space, but i'll be damned if i have to stay put in it 24 hrs a day.
my night ended with breakfeast and many txts about wagon burning and the end of the world. can i do it again tonight?! tune in tomorrow..... eh. nevermind. don't tune in. i dont like the pressure. pizza!!

1. about not posting on here. cut and paste is easy enough even for me.

2. no fraking fetish night for me. i realised i'd be much happier anywhere else. even with the offer to dj, it's a big fat no. nope. no way. no how. unh-unh. presently sorting out my laundry and putting zim in the dvd player. if i happen to be in a better mood later with feelings of accomplishment, maybe i'il go out for a glass of wine or two. but with having to work at 12 again tomorrow... not so much with the putting myself in situations where i feel like i need another shot. and another. and another... Buuuut, I hope it is a successful night. the outfits and power plays should be interesting.
